Karen: a short film.


Just to get the ball rolling, this is a screenplay. Those of you who don't read screenplays often might think that it is an awkward format. You are correct.

This is a short piece I write about 2 years ago. To be honest it is really just a single scene. I liked the characters and always imagine them as Southerners with a nuanced, quiet, way of speaking.

When it was done I would play with the scenario over and over in my head. I made a few tweaks, and this is what you can download and read.
Perhaps there is something feature length in there to expand on, I have made a few attempts to develop Karen beyond this short film. We almost shot it last year, very cheaply, but the Summer got away from us and we got caught up in other things.
It was always written in screenplay form and was revised slightly with the addition of a 'cold opening' to help set up the scene.
